May 6th MYSP Week in Review

by on May.06, 2012, under News & Events

Time for another week in review.  I have to say it was rather another quiet week for MadeYaScream.com.  Though for many I am sure that is not the case with HauntCon happening this weekend.  Did manage to get some stuff done this weekend around the house though which is nice as we have a pretty busy week coming up as well as next weekend, mostly on the personal level though.

So here we go, here are some of the highlights from this past week.

HAuNTcon

HAuNTcon was this weekend.  It started May 3rd and runs through the 7th.  MadeYaScream.com generally only atteneds Transworld each year so we were unable to make this years show though one year we hope to make it.  Here is a link the the website if you are unfamiliar with HAuNTcon.

The Luke & Butch Show

Nothing new to report on the Luke & Butch Show.  We hope to have something put together with our 1st script and recording very soon.  Will keep you informed each week on our progress.

About Us

We updated our About Us page on MadeYaScream.com.  Gives a lot of detail on where we have been, what you can expect from us as well as what not to expect from us.  Check it out here:  About Us

Models, Monsters & Motors 3

The dates were announced this week for the annual “Models, Monsters & Motors 3 Car Show”.  For those that have not attended this show before, it is a great show and a lot of fun.  I enjoy it a lot as it gives a photographer like me an opportunity to get some great horror shots in the off season.  Cool cars, hot models, music and much more.  This years event will be held on Sunday September 23rd.

Zombie Novel

I reported yesterday that I will be taking a few days off each week from my daily MadeYaScream.com duties to work on a dream of mine and that is to finish a Zombie Novel I started over 5 years ago.  This being a slow time of year for the haunted attraction industry is a perfect time for me to try and get this done or moving forward before the season kicks in.  Click here to read more.

Wedding Shoot

I am honored to be shooting our good friend Lance Williams wedding this coming weekend.  Lance is one of the creators of the new “Panic Chambers Hotel” opening this year.  Should be a fun wedding, I am looking forward to seeing many of our good friends from the Panic Chambers as well a few others that may be attending from the local haunted attraction industry.

Casper and I are working on a new photo gallery for MadeYaScream.com.  We are currently using three programs right now, PhotoBucket, Picasa & Flickr.  We like like to get down to one or two at the minimum.  We are trying to find something that works for all our needs for displaying photos on our website as well as an easy option for our haunted attractions to download photos.  We think we have found what we need and will have more updates to come.

That about wraps things up for the week.   We hope you have a great week and we’ll see you right back here next Sunday.

Time off for a Zombie Novel

by on May.05, 2012, under News & Events

I have decided to take a little time off from some of my daily duties with MadeYaScream.com to dedicate more time to finishing a Zombie Novel I started nearly five years ago.  While we will still be adding some great photos and links on MadeYaScream.com I will also be spending some of my off time trying to finish a dream of mine that I have had for a long time and that is to pen my version of what I love in a Z Novel.   I have read a ton on zombie novels/series over the years and while some have come close to what I want to read none have ever reached the vision I have on how things would turn out in the event of a Z Apocalypse.

I have a a rough 1st draft already completed, about 268 pages 47,354 words but I am at that point where my vision has changed over the past five years and I feel like starting fresh with a whole new story to tell.  I have contemplated sitting down and just writing from my mind on where I see things going that day.  No pre-planning just writing from the hip and seeing where the story leads me or for that matter where I lead the story.

So stay tuned, maybe I will post some pages/chapters from time to time.  Wish me luck  : )

We still have a lot of work to do on MadeYaScream.com so both Casper and I will be keeping things going strong however I may be taking a few days off during the week and weekends to pursue another dream.

April 29th MYSP Week in Review

by on Apr.29, 2012, under News & Events

I started this day off by waking up and stumbling to the kitchen like a true zombie, made some coffee, limped to the office, found my desk and sat down to take care of some of my daily posts on our fan page.  As I sat here I tried to think of something new we could add to our website and then came up with the idea to start a week in review blog for MYSP.

As I sat down at a blank document and tried to think of some of the highlights from this week I sadly realized it was kind of a quiet week for myself and Casper.  There were a few highlights however and here they are.

New Haunted Attraction Listing

We added a new haunted attraction to the Wisconsin Listings, it is called, “House Horror Built” Haunted Attraction and it is located in Kenosha, WI.  This is a brand new home haunt and it will feature creations by Hollywood FX Artist “Brian Wright”.  We look forward to hearing more info and seeing more photos.  You can check out their website here.  http://www.househorrorbuilt.com/

The Luke & Butch Show

Not a lot of activity here to report, we are looking forward to starting production very soon.  Casper is readily searching for the right backdrop we will use and once we have that in place we should be able to start production of our very first show.  It will be great to have Luke & Butch back in the studio reporting all the latest & greatest news in the haunted attraction industry like only they can relay it.   On a good note, we did see the Luke & Butch fan page jump up to 5 likes this weekend.  They are on a roll now : )

New Start up Haunted Attraction

Casper and I were asked to meet with someone on a new start up haunted attraction here in Wisconsin, they wanted to pick our brain on some ideas as well as look at some budgeting information from our old haunt “Nightmare on Broadway”.  The meeting was canceled this week and will let you know if we hear any more in the coming weeks.

Father & Daughter Dance

On a lighter note, I was asked by my sister if I would volunteer my photography skills for a Girl Scout Father & Daughter Dance this past Friday night.  I agreed and spent a few hours in Suamico photographing about 125 girls and their fathers.  It truly was non stop work from the minute we arrived until we wrapped it up a few hours later.  All in all it was a lot of fun and was great getting to spend some time with my sister who also has many ties to the haunted attraction industry.  She is retired now from the business but spent a great many years designing rooms at our old haunt.  Pictured is my beautiful niece Sammy and my brother-in-law Joe.

That about wraps things up for the week.   We hope you have a great week and we’ll see you right back here next Sunday.

Another year has flown by and Transworld’s 17th Annual Halloween & Attraction has come and gone.  For you cherries, Transworld is one of the largest attraction trade show for the haunt industry.  Vendors from all over the country gather and represent every aspect of the industry, from insurance to ticketing, trinkets to animatronics, makeup to amazing masks & costumes, props to interactive features, music to special FX sounds and so much more.  If you run a haunt or cater to this industry, then this is the show for you!

This year’s show included some amazing props and technology designed to step up any haunted attraction.  Transworld 2012 was a great opportunity for MadeYaScream.com in regards to networking with other haunted attractions, haunt vendors, and amazing people in the haunted attraction industry.  We would like to give a special shout-out to all of our friends we saw at Transworld:
